Effectuation originated out of extensive research of Saras Sarasvathy under supervision of Nobel prize winner, Herbert Simon, in 2001. Saras researched the ways in which entrepreneurs carry out and conduct business. She discovered five principles, principles that are now available to every manager and employee, which are fundamental for success. Expert entrepreneurs prefer and apply effectuation as a consequence of their long-term experience of action under uncertain conditions.
